Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How does chiropractic work?

Improper motion or positioning of the bones in the spine can irritate the surrounding joints, muscles and ligaments. This can cause joint fixation, swelling and spasming of these structures. Our doctors restore proper biomechanics allowing the body to heal itself. At Graffeo Chiropractic Clinic we are not only dedicated to relieving pain and dysfunction from injury or disease; we place great emphasis on maintenance or wellness care. We advocate periodic spinal exams and treatment if needed to help the body function at its optimal potential, prevent recurrence of prior neck and back pain and help the body use its energy more efficiently (sports, work, and daily activities)

What conditions do you treat?

At Graffeo Chiropractic Clinic Chiropractors treat a range of symptoms related to the spine. These symptoms can be found in most areas of the body. The most common conditions where patients seek relief at our clinic are:

How much does it cost?

It depends on the treatment plan the doctor prescribes for you, as well as your insurance policy limitations. We also offer (ChiroHealthUSa) a Discount Plan that lets us offer you the care you need at prices you can afford. We believe that everyone deserves to benefit from the relief of chiropractic care.

What happens on the first appointment?

Our interpreters and front desk personnel will help you to complete the necessary paperwork, which includes personal, insurance, and health history information. Then, you will have a consultation with a doctor to discuss your health history and your current complaint. A careful spinal examination, x-rays and analysis will be performed to detect any structural abnormalities which may be affecting or causing your condition.

Is Chiropractic Treatment Appropriate for Children?

Yes. Children can benefit from Chiropractic care as they continue to grow. Spinal problems may appear as the result of falls, or from long periods of time spent in cramped or uncomfortable positions, such as riding in car seats. Chiropractic has been proven for decades to be one of the safest health care methods, and of course safety is even more important when dealing with children. Spinal adjustments, when performed on infants or young children, involve very light, finger-tip movements.

Are all patients adjusted the same way?

No. The doctor evaluates each patient’s unique spinal problem and develops an individual course of care. Each chiropractic adjustment builds on the one before. The resulting recommendations are based upon years of training and experience. Each patient’s care is uniquely different from every other patient.

Should I continue chiropractic care if I don't have any symptoms and I feel better?

Just because symptoms disappear, does not mean your condition has had time to heal and strengthen. Most of the patients seen in our office have spinal degeneration that has taken years to develop. Slips, falls, accidents and countless other stresses over the course of your lifetime adversely affect the health of your spine. The longer you wait to have your spine checked by a chiropractor, the longer it will take to correct it.

It has been our experience that those who stop care when they are “feeling fine” return with the same health challenge(s) which brought them to our office in the first place…only it’s usually gotten worse. On the other hand, the patients who commit to long-term, wellness chiropractic care find their health challenge(s) rarely return, and they enjoy a higher quality of life & health.

How long it will take till I get better?

Children, often see results quickly. Adults and the elderly with long-standing problems take longer. Everyone responds differently. It’s easy to become impatient if you’re accustomed to “fast, fast relief” by taking a pill that simply fools your body so it can’t sense pain. True healing moves at its own pace.
