About Chiropractic Care
Do you know how your body works? Your nervous system controls everything that happens in your body. Your brain constantly sends signals to your body to tell it what to do, and your body sends reports back to your brain, and together they run everything! All of those signals travel through your spinal cord and along your nerves to every part of your body. Those nerves must pass through small openings in the bones of your spine. Illness, injury or stress can move the bones of your spine out of place. This is called a “subluxation”. When the bones in your spine – the vertebrae – are out of place, they can put pressure on your nerves. This pressure can slow down, scramble, or entirely stop your nerve impulses from travelling to and from your brain, which can cause the part of your body connected to those nerves to malfunction. The body and the brain need to be able to talk to each other in order to work properly.
If the pressure on a nerve is not removed, over time you may find that you have increasing problems with the body part it serves. A chiropractor’s job is to find the bones that are out of place and gently return them to their proper position, removing the pressure from your nerves, allowing the body function correctly. Your body has an amazing ability to heal itself, but it can’t do its job if your bones are out of place. Once the chiropractor has adjusted your spine, the body can start to heal. When you have a subluxation, it will usually take a number of adjustments for your spine to stabilize in the correct position. Minor injuries often resolve in just a few visits, while more significant injuries or chronic conditions will take longer. But over time, chiropractic care will help your body heal itself so you can live without pain and do the things you want to.

Dr. Joseph Graffeo, DC
I decided to become a doctor at a young age, and have been helping people heal since 1979. My favorite part of being a chiropractic physician is the opportunity to change people’s lives by helping them achieve health and wellness.
My special interest and extensive training is in nutrition and endocrinology, and being able to teach my patients how to take responsibility for their own health.
My activities outside of the office include taking long walks, playing the guitar, and listening to jazz music.
Dr. Joe Graffeo, DC
I started working for Graffeo Chiropractic Clinic in 1999, and enjoyed helping our patients so much that I decided to become a chiropractor myself. I graduated from University of Western States in 2011 and joined my father in practice that year.
Patient education is an important part of my practice and I will take the extra time to listen to listen and talk with you. For me, being a chiropractic doctor is more than a profession; it is a way of life – and health. When I’m not helping our patients, I enjoy sports and outdoor activities with my family and our dogs.
Dr. Rigel Wise, DC
As a Northwest native, I attended the University of Washington, then received my chiropractic degree from the University of Western States in 2012.
I find deep satisfaction in watching our patients getting better. For me, providing the highest quality of chiropractic care to all of our patients is my strongest objective.
After clinic hours I enjoy cheering on my son playing sports, singing karaoke with my wife, coaching baseball, playing softball and watching football.
Dr. Michael Malone, DC
I graduated from Western States Chiropractic College in 1999. As a former semi-pro soccer player, I understand how important chiropractic care is for athletes. In 2005, I received my Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician credentials.
I believe that being a chiropractic physician at Graffeo Chiropractic Clinic is a calling which allows me to meetand serve people of diverse backgrounds. I enjoy every aspect of my work from helping a little child at their first visit to making life-changing improvements in someone’s health.
In my spare time I enjoy kayaking, traveling, and watching football with my wife and son.
